The AIA Bronx Chapter's Architecture and Community Committee has created a new educational program available "free" to 'Title 1' NYC public schools in the Bronx. The inaugural program will explore the creative professions of architecture and interior design and is available to participating schools for Grades 5-8. A workshop at the school will include visual presentations by the Committee as well as a hands-on design project for the students to explore, followed by a visit to an architecture firm. Two sessions are intended each year.
Due to COVID-19, the Spring 2020 program has been canceled and will be rescheduled. The program was scheduled for P.S. 86 in the Kingsbridge Heights section of the Bronx with a tour of the Byer Binder & Bell architectural offices in Manhattan.
